How many Profhilo treatments are needed?

The full treatment consists of two sessions, four weeks apart. A third treatment may be necessary. To prolong the effect, a further session is recommended after approximately six months.

What is the treatment like?

Is there any downtime?

There is minimal downtime. In the 24 hours before treatment, it is advisable to avoid alcohol, aspirin, or anti-inflammatory medication. You may be a little red at the injection site, and a slight bump may be visible for a short time. Immediately after treatment, you should avoid wearing make-up and doing sports, swimming, or any other strenuous physical activity for 24 hours. It is also best to avoid saunas for a few days after the treatment.

What are the risks & side effects?

There are no long-term side effects. Profhilo is metabolised by the body completely.

No allergy test is required before treatment. The risk of allergic reactions is substantially reduced because Profhilo contains no synthetic chemicals that some people might react to.

Some people may experience redness, slight bruising, tenderness, and itching at the injection sites, but these are temporary and should resolve within a few hours to a day.
